Hi! I’m Haley! Most kids like dinosaurs, princesses, and pirates. But me? I like outer space. Want to take a look through my telescope?
Just look at it. Isn’t space amazing!
I don’t want to just look at the stars—I want to visit them. Let’s pretend to be Sally Ride. She’s my favorite astronaut. Do you want to be an astronaut with me? Great! Pretend with me!
“Sally Ride, reporting for duty, sir!”
“Welcome to the Johnson Space Center, Sally. We’re glad to have you on our crew.”
“Whoa!”
“Pretty cool, right? That’s the Space Shuttle Challenger.”
“Are you ready to get started with our training? We’ll practice launching this satellite, and then we’ll be ready for space.”
Launch Day is here. Look how many people came to watch! It’s time to ride the elevator up to the very top of the shuttle. Are you ready?
We’re finally on the ship! Time to do our final launch preparations, and then it’s off to outer space!

BLASTOFF! Next stop, outer space!
Woo-hoo! We’re really here! We’re in outer space! This is my favorite part—check it out!
There’s no gravity in space, so things float—even me!
Commencing mission satellite! My job up here today is to use this robot arm to release that satellite into space.
Our mission is complete. Quick, to the window. Can we see our satellite out there? Next stop, home!
